Why You Can't Go Wrong With a Modern Engagement Ring

Modern engagement rings are becoming more popular these days. As you get into the styles of modern engagement rings you will find that people are straying away from diamonds, traditional settings, and even band shapes. They change a lot but that also means that they are unique to the person that wearing them. Here is a list of 3 reasons why you cannot go wrong with modern engagement rings.

Unique Stones

People have been straying away from using just diamonds and going towards using different stones. This is a great option because then the whole ring down to the stones will mean something to both of you. People are opting for birthstones, white sapphire, favorite color stones. Birthstones are a great option especially if you are going to be creating a blended family because then you can have the children’s birthstone. These and the white sapphires also cost a lot less so what would have been a $1,000 ring can drop to $100-$500 at most depending on how big and how many stones need to be added or changed.

Different setting types

This is also a way of making the ring unique to the person. People have been gravitating towards things like an upside-down setting where instead of being suspended on top of the band the setting is put at the bottom of the band which can really suit asymmetrical gemstones and diamonds. The other type of setting that people are using is a setting known as the east to the west setting. This setting is used most with marquise, emerald, and rectangular cut stones to accentuate the shape and not just leaving it to sit on top in an awkward-looking setting. There are more settings that are unique that can be used but those two are the most common ones these will also be on the cheaper side because there are not many people that will order those types so there is not a high enough demand for them to be very expensive.

Band shapes and colors

There are quite a few band types that people have been looking into getting. They are eclectic and fun and will be guaranteed to stand out amongst the crowd and have people constantly wanting to look at it. The first one is an open band style. The open band style is a circular band but instead of wrapping all the way around the finger there is a portion removed and at the ends are two centerpiece stones. It is designed to show the middle of the ring finger and show the detail of the design. Chevron bands are another one where it is one strip, or even multiple strips, where a part of it dips into a V pattern like a Chevron pattern. They will often set the diamond at the tip of the pattern. The final one is a square pattern. These ones are supposed to be reminiscent of the sculpture design of the 60s. All of these make your ring stand out.
